Working hard

The estate children like me hated school holidays because it would mean more work on the rubber estate. I still remember the advice was given by my parents, “even if it rained gold, you would still need to go and collect it, meaning you had to work for what you want.”Most of the estate parents always taught their children about working hard. The children always help parents tap rubber. Some estate houses had no indoor plumbing and no electricity.
