He received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree after a break of five years because of health and the 2018 general election.He received the scroll from Universiti Malaya chancellor Sultan Nazrin Shah for his dissertation entitled “The Implementation of the New Economic Policy: Success and Failures”
